FAQ
- What is a MUD?
A MUD (Multi User Dungeon) is a text-based online role-playing game. Some aspects may seem a bit like Dungeons 'n Dragons, but in general it feels like a story that you control. While other MUD:s may focus more on the role-playing aspect of things, we focus on hack’n’slash fun with a welcoming community feel to it.
- Is it free?
Yes, playing BurningMUD is entirely free.
- What do I need to play?
You need a computer, a keyboard, an internet connection, and your imagination. You may find it easier to play using a helper program called a MUD client. There are free (wintin) and non-free MUD (cmud) clients available. You are not forced to use any specific MUD client while playing BurningMUD. In fact, playing BurningMUD using telnet is entirely possibly. A MUD client is an enhanced telnet client. However, if you want to have a more powerful client which supports aliases and scripting, that’s OK too.
- Where do I find the more powerful software?
